Consultant-Client Partnerships: The Key to Successful Fundraising

The consultants at H. Freeman Associates take pride in our history of long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with clients. Specifically, over 50% of our current clients have worked with H. Freeman Associates for five or more years and approximately 85% of clients served in the past 17 years have either renewed or entered new contracts two or more times.* The secret to our success in building long-term client relationships is two-fold. First, we are highly selective in the identification of clients to be served. A non-profit’s desire to work with H. Freeman Associates must, from our perspective, be matched by our belief that the client is:

  • ready to benefit from the services to be provided;
  • committed to the success of our mutual partnership;
  • an organization that responds to a genuine philanthropic need.

Second, we are selective in identifying organizations that are a good institutional and/or personal "fit" with our consultants and our firm. The bottom line is simple: the quality of our work with a client is heavily influenced by trust, compatability, and the belief that we can provide the best services possible.
