Servant Leadership, Robert Greenleaf, Henri Nouwen
The concept of the servant as leader is reflected in the values of our consulting firm and, in turn, many of the clients with whom we work. Two names are most prominent in our understanding of Servant-Leadership: Robert Greenleaf, a Quaker and early pioneer in the area of Servant-Leadership, and Henri Nouwen, a Catholic theologian and author widely known across the religious spectrum for his work in psychology, pastoral counseling, and spirituality.

H. Freeman Associates is pleased to offer the following resources:

Henri Nouwen: “Making Space for Wealthy (and Well-Known) People at Your Table

In his book, The Spirituality of Fund-Raising Henri Nouwen observes that “…..Sometimes our concern for the poor may carry with it a prejudice against the rich.”

One of the short videos in our 50 Practical Tips series focuses on Henri Nouwen’s perspective on wealth and the need to break down the barriers that often let financial circumstances get in the way of providing a “space at the table” for people with wealth.
